now I run
I love this song so much. Everything about it is nice. Best song Shannon Noll's sang so far *thumbs up*.Now I run (Shannon Noll)Tell me how the circle ends
There’s no beginning
Everything that came before will come round again
And I look in the mirror my fathers eyes look back at me
He gave me a road to choose…he gave me freedom
I pray I’m strong enough to walk in his shoes
And I, I hope I become half the man he taught me to be
Coz I feel you guiding me showing me the way when I misdirected
I know you're not here but I feel connected
(Chorus)
And everything that I am comes from a better man
In all that I've said and done
Can't relive up my history right there for all to see
I'm just my father's son
He told me to walk
Now I run
Now I run
Sometimes when I lose myself in my weakness
I can feel a touch of his unmistakeable hands
And they're pushing me forward back into the circle again
And I hope my son sees in me
The kind of man that he was to me
(Chorus)
And everything that I am comes from a better man
In all that I've said and done
Can’t relive my history right there for all to see
I’m just my father’s son
He told me to walk
Now I run
I run
(Bridge)
He’s the best and the worst of me
Sometimes I don't know where my common sense is
I may be a sinner but my best defence is
(Chorus)
And everything that I am comes from a better man
And all that ive said and done
Can’t relive my history right there for all to see
I’m just my father’s son yea
I'm just my father's son
He told me to walk
Now I run

It’s time to go…Michelle.…And at that moment, I wished that time would stand still.
Although we were all laughing and joking around as usual, an unspeakable cloud of sadness hung over us. My heart hangs heavy and my eyes water as I type this. We knew that the day would come when we would be forced to part and go our separate ways, but we didn’t think that it would come so soon. Sometimes we even took for granted that all we had was time. 3.5 years for some, 2.5 years for others. It doesn’t matter. We have become family.
When you go overseas alone to study, the only people you can rely on for support is your friends. They become your family. They are the only people you know. You cling to them for dear life. You build a friendship. It then becomes a sisterhood. They say that blood is thicker than water. I say that we have something that is thicker than blood. Sometimes you can’t even rely on relatives like you rely on your friends. God is truly amazing indeed. He knew that each of us needed support so He planned our paths so that they would cross. And somehow we all cliqued. As someone great said, “People come and go, but true friends leave footprints in your heart”.
No words can express how I feel. It’s something new that I’ve actually never experienced before. As I told Mich, it’s as if someone cut a piece of my heart and left a hole there. It’s a feeling of emptiness. It’s the feeling of knowing that she won’t be just ‘round the corridor anymore. It’s the feeling of knowing that she won’t be here for the next 1.5 years that I will be here. It’s the feeling I’ll get when I look at the 5 of us and know that we’re missing 1 more. It’s the feeling that I won’t get to see her often anymore because we live in different countries. I know it’s hard for us individually, to say goodbye to 1 person. But imagine how hard it is for her to say goodbye to all of us at once.
Sad as I may be, I thank God for all the good times that we have shared. My overseas experience has been full of joy and laughter because Michy has been a part of it. He gave me a friend for life. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without my alliance. What I do know is that we’ll be friends forever and that we’ll always stay in touch. Cheers to a great future ahead Michelle, you will be dearly missed over here.

first day
*groan* Can't believe it's the 1st day of 2nd sem already. Uni was hectic today. The lectures are always full on the 1st week and then by the 3rd week, attendance levels are already dropping. I had Admin and Constitutional law today and they both suck already. Incidentally, they're both by the same lecturer! Who refuses to use powerpoint and drones on and on and on and on....URGH...They are 2 such boring units...and they are linked too!!! DOUBLE URGH!!! I can see what an INTERESTING semester I'm going to have. BOooooo...I have 2 tons of readings to do already. I just got a reading guide from my lecturer which is 50 pages long. And it's just of the titles of journals and books we are supposed to read. WHAT THE?! Oh wait...why am I even surprised. Anyone doing Admin law this sem?! I took it early so now everyone in my lecture is a year older than I am!! I don't know anyone!!!Can't wait till Syl gets back so I can talk crap with her.

aunt agony
I suddenly feel like aunt agony. Last night I was dishing out advice to a friend who asked me what she should do with her future, and my cousin, who was telling me his problems in school, at the same time. Just as I thought that it was over, another friend came along with her fair share of problems. It's not that I don't like listening, I am most honoured that people would think I have the solution to their problems, or that if they just want to chat, I can lend a listening ear. I just don't understand why me? Most of the time I find myself not making any sense and feeling inadequate about the advice I give people. Heck, most of the time I don't even know what advice to give myself :S. I was talking to my sister for 3 hours on the phone last night. My ears are still burning from the long time I had to hold the phone up to my ear. Especially when you wear earrings. They hurt man. But my sister is so funny, she's says the most hilarious things. I nearly died laughing when she was trying to kill a bug in our room whilst screaming and narrating the details to me. It's hard to see sometimes that we are 6 years apart in age because she's much more mature than I am. She's running for handbell president. Imagine that! She's got sooo many things to do that I don't even think 48 hrs a day will be enough time for her but she manages to do every single thing well. She's amazing man. She's now learning French from her friend and she taught me how to say "I'm a dustbin" but obviously I forgot how to. Who wants to say "I'm a dustbin" anyway?! ohhhh maybe Syl *lol*.Going to the city today. I can't believe we're going all the way there for Max Brenner (this chocolate shop which sells everything chocolate).

withdrawal symptoms
Withdrawal symptomsARGH...I'm having withdrawal symptoms from the World Cup. Just spent an hr talking to my brother about soccer and other stuff of course but mainly discussing soccer cuz we're both nuts about it at the moment. I'm finding it odd not having any soccer to watch at 1am or 5am in the morning. Who the heck wants to watch the Tour de France man. Read www.kennysia.com. He explains it so well.I can't believe tickets to the Aussie v Kuwait match (for the Asia Cup) which is in Aus (It's in Sydney though) in mid-Aug were all sold out in an hour. Dang. I can't believe my sister is coming to Australia for the handbell symposium on the 1st Aug but it's being held in Brisbane and not Melb. I can't even go over cuz I have uni and I probably won't get to watch it cuz only people who register and participate can watch I think. ARGH.Went to watch Pirates of the Carribbean 2 on Tuesday. It was damn good sia. The special effects were good and so was Johnny Depp. He's hilarious! But I can't believe they left us HANGING man! Now I'll have to watch Pirates of the Carribbean 3 next year. ARGH. I can't believe how gross the movie was though. Pirates are FILTHY and SMELLY and disgusting. YUCKS. They have absolutely ZERO personal hygiene. PHEWEEEEEE. I could even smell them from the cinema screen. DOUBLE YUCKS. Overall, thumbs up because it was funny and cuz Johnny Depp is a fantastic actor.Uni is starting again soon. DANG. Where did all my hols go. DANGDANGDANGDANGDANG.

praise the Lord
Praise the Lord - He never lets me down*phew* I have to breathe a sigh of relief...results are out and I tried very hard NOT to worry but of course I was still a teeny bit worried. As usual, I would be jumping up and down waiting for the online results to load. Just that this time it was a bit different. Usually the results are out when I'm back home, so I would ask every one of my family members to get out of the study room whilst I wait for the results to load. Then after a while of silence my mom will pop her head out at the doorway and ask me how the results are. hurhur. This time I was all alone (besides Michy talking to me on msn). Yea well the usual stupid thing happened. 2 units that I was pretty sure I would fail, I actually got much higher than I expected - I got a distinction for Property ok, can you believe it - I can't - I'm so grateful). I practically had to teach myself the whole damn unit because my lecturer was crap and I am NOT looking forward to part 2 of Property next semester. And 2 units that I thought I would do better, I didn't do as well. So yea I guess it pretty much evens out. As long as I clear all my units I'm grateful.Anyways, I'm very happy that I get to continue next sem without a hitch. Praise the Lord! I was so nervous about it last night that I couldn't sleep, and then I read the bible and I felt so much better. CONGRATS TO MICHELLE FOR GRADUATING!!! Sad to say that you'll have to leave us soon but we'll always have fond memories to treasure...A bright future waits ahead of you. NOT looking forward to next semester but looking forward to the end of the year. Cheers everybody!!!

darn
argh...just when I said I wanted to return to watching EPL, I got whiff of rumours that Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Man U for Real Madrid (he'd better leave especially after what happened during the World Cup or else he may be bashed my Rooney) and Cesc Fabregas wants to leave Arsenal for Real Madrid as well. Right. So now we're going back to Spain. When my mom asked whether we should go to Switzerland or the US end of this year, I said, "let's go to Spain" and I think she wanted to wack me. Whywhywhywhywhy...A bit of trivia: Did you know that Australia holds the World record for largest number of goals scored against another team in international football history? They scored 31 - 0 against American Samoa in 2001. The whole team was sleeping or what?!

so close yet so far part II
Slimy Italians won! I can't believe it. Everything went wrong for the French! My jinx hadn’t been broken, and this is the end of the World Cup.
What a night (arguably morning since it was 3am for me)…All the matches I’ve watched has led up to this one. This was the one that mattered. I wasn’t originally going to watch it but then my brother said, “You watched every other match, how can you NOT watch the final???” So fine, I did.
When the closing ceremony started, I saw Il Divo sing that slowww song with Toni Braxton and man, did I miss that La Copa song by Ricky Martin. It just seemed like a more appropriate song than “Time of our life”. :S I nearly fell asleep then.
What a match! I was really rooting for the French. They had played better teams and beat them e.g. Brazil. They were the underdogs man. No one thought that they would make it thus far. Whereas Italy could hardly break Australia. Besides, I will never forgive the Italians (I believe it was Grosso) for that slimy penalty against Australia. NEVER!!!
Everything was happening in the first 10 minutes. In the 2nd minute, Henry (king of fouls & offsides) ran right smack into an Italian and was lying on the floor unable to move for the next few minutes whilst a medic sponged him head with an ice pack. For a moment when he walked off the pitch, I thought it was over for the French. In the first 2 minutes too!!! All the French looked worried of course, since Henry is one of their prized players. (By the way, I just realised that majority of the French players are black!! Why??) But after a whiff of the strong smelling salts that one of the medics thrust under his nose, Henry was back on his feet as if nothing had happened. Everyone cheered and breathed a sigh of relief. Even I did.
Then in the 7th minute, France scored a penalty. I was ecstatic man! I jumped right out of the bed and sat up staring at the screen. Zidane (king of penalties) scored it…by a few cm ok. The ball went in and hit the top of the net and just BARELY crossed the line.
Then the yellow cards came flying fast as Italy (Zambrotta) scored one in the 5th minute, followed by France (Sagnol & Diarra) in the 12th & 76th minute respectively.
It was so scary that the Italian manager started to chew on his fingernails. And then bloody Italy (Materazzi) scored a corner in the 19th minute. I have to say it was quite a good goal though. Italians are so slimy ok. They kept tripping the French up & injuring them when the referee didn’t look. And they went for the good players too. What’s the point of playing a game when you don’t play fair? That’s zero sportsmanship man. So then it was back to square 1 with 1-1.
I had to go to the loo so bad in the first few minutes but refused to tear my eyes away from the screen until half time. It was damn exciting man. Like clash of the titans. I dislike the Italians but I must admit that they are very smooth players. They score when you least expect it. Moreover, they had 18% higher possession of the ball in the first half, which was dangerous too.
2nd half of the match was boring man, although the French were dominating & stepping up to the game more. I was falling asleep – nothing much was happening. It was a heart-stopping moment in the 61st min as the Italians scored another goal but only to be disallowed as it was offside. They had to go into extra time because after 90mins it was still 1-1.
And then during the 110th min, a stupid FOUL-MOUTHED Italian player said something to provoke Zidane so badly that Zidane reacted and smashed his head into the Italian player’s chest, causing him to fall. That earned him a red card as he left in shame. OH NO!!! France was gone by then. Playing a man short is never a good thing. Especially without Zidane. Malouda even got a yellow card for trying to intervene for his team mate. Man! You would think someone of Zidane’s reputation, experience and rank (Captain of France) would react in a better manner than that. I wonder what the slimy FOUL MOUTHED Italian said. Apparently it was very degrading to Zidane's heritage and extremely racist. Which is so contradictive of the anti-racist statement that FIFA has been preaching!!! And then of course as everyone predicted, they went into a penalty shootout. Too bad Zidane was red carded, or else he would have taken a great penalty. Poor fella, he must feel suicidal now. I feel so sorry for him. If someone said that to me I would punch the living daylights out of him too. He's only but human. What a way to retire. But he had been so good throughout the whole World Cup.I guess sometimes people have to focus on the positives - like France who got so far as 2nd. I mean...2nd in the world is a big thing man, it's still something to be happy about. I guess we've been brought out to believe that first or nothing is the way to go. Other than first, you're a loser. But I think that all the 32 teams who qualified are winners.
My whole stomach was in knots man! I hate penalties! Anyway yea as I said, Italy won lah. They scored 5 penalties to 3. So close yet so far. I mean duh, with my bad luck the whole World Cup. Oh well. What can I say. I feel so sore. Now the whole craze is over, I’m going back to EPL. This world ain't fair. Italy will take the cup knowing that the whole thing was a lie & they will be able to live with it because they have no conscience. Well at least Brazil & Spain tied for the fairplay award - now THAT was the only thing that was fair from this World Cup.

*burp*
*burp*Me is very happy. Me finally got to go to Krispy Kreme. It was crazy I tell you. For those of you who don't know yet, Krispy Kreme is the very famous American doughnut franchise. And after a VERY LONG wait, it finally landed here in Melbourne in the ulu-est possible place. So we drove down to try it because it's a 24 hour drivethrough (took us 20mins on the freeway). I pity the people working there. You should have seen it. We were astounded to see the length of cars queuing at the driveway. I'd probably have been more surprised if I hadn't come from Singapore, the land famous for queuing. Reminds me of the Hello Kitty phenomenon. Anyways, it's not only a drivethrough. People can also queue to get into the stall. There was a line of people but it wasn't very long. It also wasn't moving. Well I guess at 9:15pm only crazy people would be waiting outside in the freezing cold (not to mention, RAIN) for doughnuts. We were comfy in the car. So after 50 minutes wait (can u believe it), we FINALLY placed our order, and this is what it looked like: YUM. But too damn sweet. I think I'm gonna be diabetic soon. And ironic as this may be, I dun think I wanna have any more Krispy Kreme for a long time. It's too damn sweet man. My teeth hurt!! Moreover, we went over to Sang's house to test an apple crumble recipe (none of us have prior experience baking apple crumble, but I had craving for some and they don't sell it, so we had to make it). Success! Nothing is better than warm home-made apple crumble with vanilla ice cream - Not even Krispy Kreme.I feel sick now. But it was soooo worth it.

argh
And so the bad luck and jinxing continues. Portugal lost to France on a bloody penalty. I hate penalties man...they aren't a fair way of winning the damn match. Anyways, who ask that Portuguese idiot to allow it to happen. ARgh. Anyways it was quite expected. France is invincible this year because of their leading men, Henry & Zidane to name a couple. I didn't see Ronaldo cry this morning after the match, which is rare (hurhur), so I actually fully wasted my time and only slept for 2 hrs in total man. I tell you, if my bad luck spell continues, Italy are gonna take the bloody cup. I so hope France take it, I think they deserve it more. *cross fingers*When I woke up this morning at 10am I was damn groggy but insisted on going out with the girls cuz firstly, I already said I would and secondly, the whole damn centre was on sale man. I was staring at a big Garfield going for $30 (it was gorgeous man) at Kmart and considering if I should buy it. I decided not to (which I may regret soon) in the end cuz I just have too many soft toys and if I carry them all back to Singapore at the end of next year my Mom's gonna have a fit cuz I have a whole wardrobe of soft toys just sitting there since my younger days. ARGH.Looking forward to tmr - going to Sang's house! Hols are nearly over - boo!!!

Oddspot from The Age - hilarious!Wednesday July 5, 2006
A crazed anti-soccer fanatic has caused chaos in Berlin by chaining concrete-filled footballs to footpaths. Two fans suffered broken toes after attempting to imitate their World Cup heroes. "Whoever sees one of these balls chained up, please ignore your instincts to kick it," a police spokeswoman said. (that's funny man...er...it's another story when you're the one with the broken toe)Friday June 30, 2006
Cardiff mother Kelly Watton, 17, was shocked to find she had fed her 18-month-old son a chocolate bar that was 23 years out of date - and four years older than she was. She had also given her mother one, but her mother alerted her to the fact that it was dated February 1983. Toddler Jayden was unharmed. (we see that Sylvia is not THAT bad after all)Monday June 26, 2006
British fans who paid up to $162 to see Elton John at Hove, near Brighton, overnight were selling their tickets for just 99p ($2.46) because the concert clashed with England's World Cup game against Ecuador, the Sunday Express reports. (hurhur I would SOOO much rather watch the World Cup)Thursday June 22, 2006
Top New York endocrine surgeon William B. Inabnet listens to the Red Hot Chili Peppers while performing difficult operations because he believes "that's good pancreas music". (Amy you have to tell me what this means)Monday June 19, 2006
Two Bulgarian prisoners on life terms in the Pazardzhik jail have sewn up their mouths and are refusing to eat until they are allowed to watch the World Cup. The two have demanded a TV in their cells and unlimited supplies of tea, coffee and cigarettes. (ok...and I thought I was crazy about the World Cup...)Friday June 9, 2006
Soccer fans in Berlin can pray for divine intervention if their World Cup teams are losing. The Berlin Cathedral and the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church will hold 15-minute, half-time services during the tournament. (I am speechless)Tuesday June 6, 2006
Taiwan's Education Ministry banned fluorescent-ink pens from exams after finding students carrying notes written with the pens. The notes were invisible until students scanned them with an ultraviolet light fitted on the other end of the pen. (smart and desperate, I like it)

Ukraine's soccer team will be given a break from training if they reach the World Cup semi-finals - to have sex with their wives and girlfriends. Coach Oleg Blokhin said he wanted players to forget about sex and to concentrate on their game. (:S)Thursday May 25, 2006
German soccer team coach Juergen Klinsmann has instigated a new training regime for his World Cup squad: repairing watches. The players have been signed up for classes in Switzerland, although no one knows what this will do for their chances. (maybe this is why they lost to the slimy Italians)

screwed up
Argh I screwed up my bedtime. It is now 6:20am in the morning and I'm awake and watching Lizzie Mcguire on tv. I fell asleep at 9pm (after a verrry saisfying dinner with the gals) and woke up at 1:30am and now I'm wide awake. ARGH. I was so bored at 1:30am that I went to check my friendster account after a LOOOONNNG time and decided to weed out (delete) all my crap testimonials and friends that I never keep in touch with. I weeded out like a hundred people man...Cuz I decided that quality is better than quantity. I'd rather have a small group of really good friends than a huge group of not-so-good friends. In-between weeding out, I realised some of the people I know have gone through plastic surgery or something...it's weird cuz in some pics they look like the people I used to know...and then in other pics they look so different it's just weird!!! I hardly can even recognise them! :S And well the weeding took me 5 hours!!! Blardy internet is too damn slow!!!On a totally different topic, did anyone notice how David Beckham looks good ALL the time??? *yawn* ok I'm actually getting sleepy now...since I only got 4 hrs of sleep. Heading to Krispy Kreme's later to buy doughnuts!!! Whee!!! They have the best doughnuts in the world! They should open a store in Singapore man, you can't find a good doughnut shop in Singapore. Till then, ciao peeps!!

See I told u I'm jinxed
ARGH!!!I told you I was jinxed. England lost. Mann...It was so close. This stupid Rooney lah. Fell for Ronaldo's trick. Rooney fouled a Portuguese guy and Ronaldo decided to give his 2 cents worth and then Rooney pushed him slightly and got red carded immediately. What the heck?! That was unfair. But Rooney should take anger management classes. But with 10 men they put up such a hard fight. I hate it when they go into penalty shootouts. Firstly because it is not a fair way to decide a match. Secondly because all the players are already exhausted from playing for 120 mins. Actually they wouldn't have had to go into half time if both sides had not missed out on so many chances. There were some great heart-stopping moments...but both goal keepers were really good. I was disappointed that Gerrard missed the penalty. But I guess he was exhausted.
A distraught Beckham after being taken out for a foot injury
Oh well, at least Portugal are still in. And they are meeting France! See? Every team I support lost! Every blinking single one! Even blinking Brazil! If my luck continues, the last 2 teams will be France v Italy and Italy will end up winning the World Cup. NOOOOOO!!! Portugal must win!!! AHHHHH!!!

I.AM.JINXED
I am jinxed man. As I was just telling Michy, everytime I watch a match and root for a team, they lose. Ever since the Australia v Italy match you know. Since then, I just have to say I hope "blah" wins, and they lose. Like I hoped Aus won but they lost. I hoped Spain won but they lost. I hoped Argentina won but they lost. I hoped Italy lost but they won (ok that was a bit of a high expectation from Ukraine). Tonight is England v Portugal. Honestly I hope they tie all the way and the game never ends. But a bit of me says I hope England takes it. And then after that England's gonna lose. ARGH!!! And then Brazil v France after that. I hope Brazil wins and then they are gonna lose (hopefully not). Oh well I shall not jinx it any further. Cross fingers and we'll see.I hate it when they don't play fair. I hate it when the referees are kayu. What is sportsmanship then? I've seen SO MUCH of it through the whole World Cup. Yesterday, Germany's captain Ballack (who has been known to go down easy) took a tumble in the penalty area at the last minute of the match (it was damn fake), hoping to score a penalty like the Aus v Italy match. Luckily the referee wasn't that blind and didn't award it to him. Didn't matter in the end cuz they went into penalty shootout and Germany still won. Cuz why? They injured the Argentina goalkeeper and then they had to substitute another keeper on who was USELESS. So much for sportsmanship and fair play.Anyways besides that, did you all know that a 12 year old kid died in Disneyland (dun noe which one) after sitting on a rollercoaster??? Apparently it's not the first time. That's friggin scary man! Makes me not want to go on a rollercoaster anymore. But it's fun!!! ARGH!!!
