hey Ma, I'm reading again!
It's been awhile since I've touched a book. The last time was in December when I finished Cecelia Ahern's 'The Gift'. I read every one of her books religiously as they are released (sometimes twice or thrice over). Since her new book's not out yet, I decided to start reading something else for a change, my Christian books. The thing about me and reading is that:I'm really picky about books that I read. People think I don't like to read, which is nonsense bullshit because I do love reading, I just am verrrrrrrryyy fussy about what I pick up. Often, a majority of books cannot seem to sustain my attention past the first few pages.Hence, my Christian books failed to sustain my attention past a few pages either. However, when I was in Dymocks a few days ago, I picked up Richard Carlson's "Don't sweat the small stuff' and read a few pages. I remember seeing this book at home in my study room, so my mom must have read it. And all this while it's been sitting there in the bookshelf, I've never bothered to pick it up. I flipped it open and started reading it and felt that I must own it. Juin bought it for me in a heartbeat. When I was in Borders the very same day an hour later, I found 'Don't sweat the small stuff in Love' edition and bought that too. Then I felt mysteriously drawn to the whole shelf of Sophie Kinsella's books. Borders was having a sale on the whole Shopaholics series so I actually purchased all 5 of them. I am going to have a book marathon. Wheeheee!!Call me bimbotic but I enjoy easy/light reading from time to time. Law books/journal articles sap too much brain cells from me. Juin's very different. He's more of a cheeem philosophy/law/super deep reader. When I saw his book collection, I screwed my nose up and walked away because those books felt like they were written in a different language. We have nothing in common, but hey, I guess opposites do attract at some point :)I caught 'Confessions of a Shopaholic' today with the gals. It was OK but really not what I expected. Perhaps I shouldn't have read the book before I watched the movie. Most of the information and sequence of events in the movie were quite different from the storybook. I think the book's much better, if you guys get the chance to read it. Until next time! :)
