鬥牛要不要

Heya how's everybody doing in 2008 so far?

I've been using my holidays wisely to watch lots of TV, sleep, eat, read and do all the things I probably won't be able to do once I start working. My parents are visibly disgusted with me because I am not doing anything productive with my time at the moment but this is the last break I am going to get so I am going to enjoy it when it is still available. It's not that I don't want to work, it's that I am picky hurhur.

Anyways I'm now watching...

The hottest Taiwanese drama at the moment, 鬥牛要不要!!

It stars Hebe from S.H.E, Mike He and Li Wei. It's supposed to be a story revolving around basketball but like all other the drama series', it's predominantly about 2 guys chasing after 1 girl - and of course the more handsome one gets her even though the other one has been by her side since young and would give up everything for her. Hmm these stories are getting more and more cliche.

Hebe acts as a spoilt, rich girl who screams when she doesn't get the things she wants. Li Wei is her bodyguard, someone who was taken in by Hebe's dad as an orphan when he was young and has been protecting Hebe since young. He would do anything for her and loves her very much but Hebe only treats him like her older brother. She meets Mike He at a basketball match and they hate each other's guts at first but then fall in love later. The plot is frought with difficulties: Mike's dad is a business man and forces his son to take over the plot of land that Hebe owns or else his business will go bust. Mike is caught between trying not to hurt Hebe and trying not to hurt his dad. Viewers are then told that the reason why his ex-girlfriend left him was because he put his dad's business needs above everything else, even her. Now we are told that Mike's dad's business partner is trying to set her daughter and Mike up for marriage. In order not to hurt his father, he complies to seeing the woman but this woman already has a boyfriend (I think) and hates her mom. And the plot thickens.

Anyways, I watched it because I like Mike He and the soundtrack is good. You would be surprised but soundtracks do make a difference to a show. I'm not really keen on Hebe (because I heard that she's not a very nice person) but her acting is quite credible in this show.

Taiwan is up to episode 7 at the moment but I believe episode 8 is coming out soon. I'm quite excited because episode 8 has scenes with 周定緯 in it!!

He was asked to make an appearance as someone's motorbiker boyfriend.

I'm excited to see how he will fare in his first role - I have high expectations because I expect he will be good. Don't disappoint me!!

The soundtrack is not bad -

Tank's opener, 鬥牛要不要, is upbeat and packs a punch.
S.H.E's closer, 最近还好吗, is the one I was hooked onto for awhile. It's quite sad.
困兽 by 周定纬 is one track that I really like as well - it's got a rap part included
I didn't think much of 林宥嘉's 背影 at first, but after watching the show I quite like it now.

Back to the show ~toodles!
