Enchanted

Watched "Enchanted" today.

It's a Disney film (yet another happy ending) and it's actually really cornily funny. It's a cartoon-crossover-to-real-world story. I'd recommend it for a laugh because of Disney's creative ability to poke fun at itself. Many of the cast and much story plot had something to do with Disney movies from the past like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White (search "Enchanted 2007 film" in Wikipedia for a whole lot of interesting facts).

It boasts an all-star line-up of Amy Adams (from Cruel Intentions 2), James Marsden (from X Men), Susan Sarandon (from The Banger Sisters), Patrick Dempsey (from Grey's Anatomy), Timothy Spall (from Harry Potter as Peter Pettigrew) and Idina Menzel (she sang with Josh Groban!!). Julie Andrews was the narrator and I didn't even know it!!

I have to talk about Idina Menzel because she is a friend of Josh Groban. I first saw Idina Menzel on Youtube singing "The Prayer" with Josh. She is a singer, songwriter and an actress and is married to actor Taye Diggs, who is one of the doctors from "Private Practice", a spin-off from Grey's Anatomy. WOW the world is a small place. It's a pity she didn't get to sing on this movie because she has a very nice voice.

I must say James Marsden was the real star in this film as a really convincing him-botic prince. With his combination of both good-looks and talent (he sings well too!!), I'm surprised that he has been playing second fiddle to other actors and actresses for so long. During the previews we got to see a trailer of a new movie titled "27 dresses" starring Katherine Heigel (from Grey's Anatomy) and he is finally playing the lead actor. It is a chick-flick but I'm going to see it anyway because I love them both.

The person who surprised me was Amy Adams. I have to admit that I was skeptical before seeing the show because I was not sure if she was able to portray the role of the innocent, naive princess after acting as a slutty rich brat in "Cruel Intentions 2", but she proved me wrong. She did really well and she sings well too!!

Disney is really into the whole "singing/musical" thing at the moment. Half-way through the show I thought, "wow if Josh were to act as a prince in a show like this and sing at the same time I'd die on the spot and have no regrets".

Sometimes there are happy endings in life.

I wonder when "PS: I Love You" is coming to Singapore. I hope it'll be here by Christmas.

I'm currently listening to (yes, contrary to popular belief I DO listen to music other than Josh)...

Soulja Boy's extremely popular hit, "Crank that (Soulja Boy)". It's catchy! Although extremely repetitive and I heard that the rest of the album is pretty crap but the dance is funny! They made the stars do it at the red carpet at the American Music Awards this year and Josh looked darn cute doing it *grins widely*.

One hit I really like is Alicia Keys' "No One".

It's just so catchy and her voice is amazing as always - and I like the lyrics: People keep talking...they can say what they like...but all I know is that everything's gonna be alright...no one, no one, no one...can get in the way of what I'm feelin'

....................................................................................................................................

I was feeling down a couple of days ago so as usual I prayed and then opened Rick Warren's "The Purpose Driven Life" randomly and the page I opened up to was Day 23: How we grow. The first words I saw were "God wants you to grow up". My first thought was, "Oh my Josh. He hit the nail on the head AGAIN."

The lesson for that day was about spritual growth and maturity. The quote from the bible was Ephesians 4:14a (Ph): We are not meant to remain as children

Sometimes I hate how well God knows me because I feel like my identity is being controlled by Him. But thinking about it again makes me feel really grateful and blessed because only He can understand me better than I can understand myself. And this way, I'm not alone because He is there to guide me through life.

And with that, I can cast my worries upon Him and sleep well at night.
