dong gua cha
Syl told me over the phone that she bought me a drink today. She said she bought me "dong gua cha" = winter melon tea...or as the bottle calls it, "green pumpkin drink"I told her that I didn't want it since I don't like winter melon. But then she told me that this bottle was different...because it looks like this...It's no ordinary bottle of winter melon tea...It's 5566 winter melon tea!!!This is gonna sound loseristic...but I thought I was over the crazy 5566 phase...I am lah...but I was still super excited to see this bottle...for some strange reason...so thanks Syl, for thinking of me when you saw this!!! :)Since it's so frigging hot these days, drink more cooling things!!! You don't want to be sick during CNY!!!
On a different note, look who's a new addition to my family of soft toys!!
My parents already warned me not to buy any more soft toys but I can't help it. Isn't she sweet? Her real name is Pretty Pony, but that's bimbotic so I'm gonna call her Oats (don't ask me why). Besides, I think she's a rocking horse, not a pony. Reminds me of mine when I was a kid. I have a strange fascination with rocking horses and unicorns at the moment (again, don't ask me why). I've been eyeing the large blue Nici unicorn for ages, but Oats is cuter, and cheaper by far!!!

marketing
Guess who went to the market today?.....Me!I am an auntie in the training *lol*.As usual I was there to run errands for my mom. Chinese New Year is driving me nuts. So many things to do and so many things to buy.I usually avoid going to the market cuz the smell used to make me gag.Luckily the small one outside my house is not too bad, and the people there are friendly. Now I know why some aunties are so strong. They have to carry around like a ton of veg, meat and seafood every other morning. Some of them have pretty good memories. They may look 70, but they can rattle off a whole list of different cuts of meat from different parts of the animal in a matter of seconds. People who never met before were discussing how to cook certain parts of the pig.The only things that I don't like about this market is that it's a little too small so when people start queuing, it gets squeezy in there. And it's wet! Yarks...I hate slip-sliding my way around. And goodness knows whether it's even water. Double yarks!!! And I hate it when the vendors use their dirty hands to fish for my change for me and give me money which is wet and slimy!! Now my wallet smells funny :SBefore I forget...my sister and I made this for Chinese New Year!!! (I can forsee us making this every year cuz my mom is a bit crazy abt it)It is the Chinese Art of "jian zhi" (literally "paper cutting"). Can you all guess what animal it is???Of course it's the pig lah. It's the pig year this year what. HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!ps: I was going to put some Chinese New Year music on my blog in lieu of the events that are happening soon and also for the fact that I usually love to irritate my friends by singing Chinese New Year songs at ANY time of the year. However, I decided to be kind and put up Tank's latest hit "zhuan shu tian shi", from the Hana Kimi OST instead. Enjoy!

Kboxing
My sister and I sang our lungs out at Kbox Cine today for 4 hrs.I made a comparison with Melbourne's karaoke places and realised that I actually get a better deal in Melbourne.I don't like Kbox no.1: They make you pay $5 for a puny bowl of peanuts that you can actually buy from NTUC for like $1 - the funny thing is that you have to pay for it whether you like it or notI don't like Kbox no.2: Their rooms are so small and squeezy that you can hardly move around in thereI don't like Kbox no.3: They allow smoking so it stinksI don't like Kbox no.4: The air-con is too frigging coldI don't like Kbox no.5: The door is transparent so people can see you from outside and vice-versa - makes you feel like you have no privacyI don't like Kbox no.6: The changing "key" button doesn't workI don't like Kbox no.7: Other people from nearby rooms kept yelling into the mics and were laughing and chasing each other round the corridors - they should have sound proof rooms so that we don't have to hear them and vice-versa Song that we enjoyed singing the most: "da yan jing" (Harlem Yu)Songs that I sorely missed because they didn't have it: "I believe" (Shi Xing Hui), "xie xie ai" (Hua Yuan Jing Ling), "kao jing" (Harlem Yu), "ru guo de shi" (Fan Wei Qi & Angela Zhang)Song that we sang twice: "Superstar" (S.H.E) - because the person came in and interrupted usSong that we sang the best: "hei se you mo" (Jay Chou)Song that we laughed at the most: "tian tian ye ye" (F.I.R) - because I didn't really know how to sing the song and kept coming in too early or too late and singing the wrong part...my sister was absolutely disgusted with me, judging by her constant snortingSong that I was surprised that I could sing: "zhen de" (Angela Zhang), "ni hen ai ta" (F.I.R), "biao bai" (Elva Hsiao)

meaningful lyrics
I usually don't pay attention to lyrics when I listen to a song because no matter how crappy the lyrics are, when I like the tune of the song, nothing else matters. Under the influence of my sister and Peg, I started to listen to the lyrics of some songs.
Can you guess the title of the song and who it is sung by?

clash of the Titans part II
I told myself that I would give anything to watch Spain play soccer again after the World Cup 2006, and my dream was realised early this morning at 4am when they (FINALLY) met with England for a friendly. VS Spanairds play soccer like crazy people. They are always hungry for possession of the ball. The pace of the game is insanely fast because they run like mad and their passing is amazing, which makes the game wickedly exciting to watch. On top of that, they are very creative, quick-thinking and intelligent people, which results in beautifully crafted goals. England on the other hand, is too lethargic for my liking. However, although I don't exactly agree that it was the clash of the Titans, I still have to acknowledge that the EPL has played a huge part in the history of soccer. This morning's game was a blast (held in the Man U stadium) because Spain won on away ground 1 to nothing haha!! Moreover, a few of my favourites were playing (Fabregas, Torres, Villa, Casillas, Joaquim, Morientes). I sorely missed Alonso and Garcia though. I know Garcia is injured but where was Alonso???I can now die a happy person. On another note, I can't believe I'm going back in 2 weeks!! My hols are over!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

jue dui superstar 2
Tonight was an exciting night for me. On the one hand, it was the finals of the ASEAN cup where Singapore was to play Thailand. On the other hand, it was the finals of Project Superstar 2 where Lydia Tan Di Ya was competing with Daren Tan Tze Wei for the title. Since the finals of the ASEAN Cup was being held in Thailand, I chose to be present live at the scene of the finals of Project Superstar 2, thanks to Juice because she helped me get tickets for me and my sister.
I thought the 8000 seater Indoor Stadium was going to be packed but it wasn't. In fact, my row was nearly empty. I was sitting quite upfront and near the stage. I didn't bring a camera because I wasn't sure if I was allowed to, so I used my lousy phone cam instead.
Here's a pic of the 2 hosts, Quan Yi Feng and Jeff Wang
Here's the Campus Superstar finalists, Teresa and Zhi Yang being interviewed
Here's how the set looks like
Here's teeny Di Ya
Here's teeny Daren
Here's Gary Cao Ge, the special guest. He sang really well, he has a superb voice.
I was rooting for Di Ya. The stadium was packed with people wearing red (for Di Ya) and blue (for Daren).
However, Daren still won. He has more fans lah...cuz many teenybopper girls think he's hot :S. I have to say that he is a good singer lah, but I think Di Ya deserves it more because she's an all-rounded performer and she has been very consistent throughout the competition. She also has a good heart and a great attitude.
No matter what it is, I believe she will still be able to get a recording contract because she sings very well.
I am now deaf.
On to another not-so-depressing piece of news, Singapore beat Thailand!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!
We won the ASEAN cup again!!!
Pity I didn't get to catch the match (never mind, can watch re-runs)...but I heard it was boring *lol*.Now to heal my deaf ears.

my new room
I realised I've been blogging more frequently lately. I suddenly have a lot of crap to say *lol*. I always thought that people hardly read my blog and it was just, well, a source of entertainment for myself. But recently there are a few people who told me that they do!! I'm so happy! Thank you!!! *beams* :)Waahahhah!!! I love my new room! With repainted walls and a whole new table and new cupboards and drawers!! Now we have so much more space than last time. *double beams*
Please bear with the pictures, they were taken using my phone camera.
That's my side of the room hahahah!! (a.k.a the fun side) :D
By the way, I'm currently listening to...
Yesh, the OST. It's not bad lah. They have 7 songs and the other 9 are instrumental. The tracks I like are "zhuan shu tian shi" by Tank, "dong le" by Tank, "wo yi zhi dou zai" by Chen Yu Lun, "sha sha de yong qi" by Venk and "xie xie ai" by Sister Garden. Tank is cool. He's like a Tao Ze junior. And I think Sister Garden are really talented...I heard they are 2 16 year old girls!! I still think Fahrenheit's (Fei Lun Hai) songs are quite crap...I previewed their album the other day and it was a painful experience. I don't think that they are bad singers but I think they need to pick better songs. I didn't like Tank's first album either cuz he can sing well but the songs were crap. Such a waste of good talent. Just something off topic...I saw this shop (I think it was in Bugis...) with my name and my bro's name hahahah!!!And I'm currently re-reading...It's a really good book and a very fun read. It's also by Sean Covey, the son of Stephen Covey, the guy who brought us the 7 habits and recently, the 8th habit. Although I'm already a retired teenager, I think that everybody (regardless of age) should own a copy of this book. After reading it, I realised that I have all the habits of a highly DEFECTIVE teenager. Hmph.
