ai qing mo fa shi
I blame Cheryl for this. I wasn't going to watch 183 Club's latest Taiwanese drama, "ai qing mo fa shi", but she lent it to me. And now I'm hooked. Again. It's an almost exact replica of their previous drama, "wang zi bian qing wa", with almost the exact same cast as well, so if you didn't like the first one, chances are you'd probably not like the second one. I think both are so-so. I only started watching it because Shao Wei is one of the leads again. And he is damn frigging cute with his new haircut and dimply smile *swoons*.In all typical Taiwanese dramas, there are 2 lead actors (who are usually good lookers) and 1 lead actress (who is usually extremely noisy). The 2 lead actors will always be good friends and the lead actress will always be wedged in-between the 2 friends (with some luck, the 2 friends fall out with each other whilst fighting for the girl). She always falls in love with the 2nd lead first because she is always at logger-heads with the first lead and hates him to kingdom come. However she always ends up with the first lead in the end because they reconcile their differences and create sparks amidst all their fighting (surprise surprise). On top of that, there will always be loser lackey friends just hanging around to add to the drama. Then whole drama has a happy ending. Sounds familiar already? This drama is no different. The previous one was about a hotel. This one is about hairdressing. Ming Dao is the lead actor and Shao Wei is the 2nd lead again (damnit when will Shao Wei be the lead!?!). And of course the rest of the 183 Club members play the puney lackeys as usual. Then there is Qiao Qiao (Song Zi Qiao) who is the solo lead actress - She hates Ming Dao and vice versa but then gets wedged in-between them. She falls in love with Shao Wei at first but ends up with Ming Dao (surprise surprise). I've only gotten as far as 4 episodes, but there are already many exciting things happening. Another thing about typical Taiwanese dramas are, they love to make things happen quickly at the beginning and then drag it out for the next 20 episodes.Despite it being a typical Taiwanese drama, 183 Club's 2nd effort is a slight improvement from its predesessor. For one, Ming Dao and Shao Wei's acting was superb. I noticed every small detail right to the last smirk, glance, smile and movement. Ming Dao's acting now is much better than his blockhead performance in "wang zi bian qing wa". Moreover, the plot is wayyy more exciting than in the 1st show (and I'm only at the 4th epi!). I'm not too crazy about Qiao Qiao, because she annoyed the heck out of me in "zi jin zi dian". I much prefer the other half of the Sweety duo, Yan Yan (Liu Ping Yan), who acted opposite Xie Zhi in "xi jie shao nian" and "ge dou tian wang". Moreover, Qiao Qiao's facial expressions are extremely exaggerated. But whatever it is, both girls are extremely talented and intelligent. Despite being only 18, they manage to juggle their studies, sing, host, do advertisements, go on interviews and act at the same time. They can cry on demand even as they are reading something funny. *Thumbs up*Both soundtracks are not bad. 183 Club can really sing. There is one song I really like in the "ai qing mo fa shi" OST, which is "gan qing xian" by them. It's damn sad man. I really like "mi gong" by qi duo hua too. They are improving. The rest are pretty happy songs haha. I know what you all are thinking. 183 Club so gross also can watch. Do not judge a book by its cover, some of these people have real talent.
