My heart is broken
My heart is brokenWhat the heck!!! Spain is out!!! (Oh, and Ghana lost to Brazil 3-0) I can't believe it (that Spain is out, not that Ghana is out duh)!!! Now there's nothing to watch for the World Cup (except England v Portugal - BUT I SUPPORT BOTH TEAMS!!! *sob*). All the players I like: Fabregas, Villa, Torres, Alonso, Casillas, Raul, Garcia, Joaquin...ALL GONE!!! They were a star team too!! I can't believe they lost 3-1!!! I think after Frace's 2nd goal, Spain just gave up. It was a DAMN exciting match though. There were a few heart-stopping moments but what was wrong with Spain??? I don't understand. They were playing so well before that. *sighz* My heart is broken (ok, so I didn't bawl my eyes out as I said I would yesterday...but still!!!). I don't think I can watch soccer anymore. I can't take all this pain. ARGH!!! DAMN YOU FRENCH!!!But to be fair it was a really, really good game. One of the best I've watched so far. I was literally kept on the edge of my seat (or in this case, my bed). The referees were also very fair - for ONCE. The ironic thing was that I think 2 of them were from Italy hurhur. The main one managed to refrain from giving out a single card until nearly the 70th minute (extremely rare). And I thought Spain had a good chance since they scored a penalty and were 1 up against the French in the first half an hour. And then of course the brillant goal from Frank just before the half time whistle. And then...I hate it when they sneak in goals right at the last minute cuz that gives me a heart attack. The last 2 goals came in minutes before the end of the match and then that was it for the Spainards who were doing so well before. The whole match was extremely fast paced (unlike the Aussie/Italy one yesterday) and Spain had great chemistry (so how come they didn't get more goals in?!) but France ultimately managed to exploit their loopholes and break through their defences. Torres was disappointing because I expected him to come up with at least 1 goal but he was pretty much out-of-sight the whole match. Anyways, Spain is still a young team that has potential to go far in future. As a result, their players lacked the required experience, unlike France, whom people laughed at because they were old, but they showed them all right. It's 7am and I'm all awake again. Argh. What a disappointment really. I need to go heal my heart before I can watch the England v Portugal match on Sunday. I think I'm rooting for England but then I like both teams pretty equally so it really doesn't matter who wins I guess (maybe then my fragile heart won't break again!!!).
