why?

To whoever is reading this post who thinks they know who I'm talking about: I'm not talking about what you are thinking of. This is an entirely other private matter that I haven't spoken about yet.
.......................................................................................................................................
There are so many a**holes in my life, and many of them just happen to be related to me.

As if this world is not a crap enough place as it is already.

It really, really sucks when people take you for granted when all you are trying to do is look out for their interest. Why can't people just sit down and talk things over calmly instead of getting angry and taking it out on each other? Why are people so quick to lose their temper?

Why do some people take and take and take and never feel the need to give?

Why are some people so frustratingly insensitive?

And why do some people feel the need to say certain things that they know is not nice on purpose? If you can't say anything nice, then don't say it. Especially when you are not even close to me. You are a bloody a**hole, and no one likes you, I know you know that. Oh wait. You are too thick-skinned & too insensitive of a twat to know that. Every stinking word that comes out of your mouth is foul. You will pay for causing all the people around you so much misery.

Sometimes it's nice to be able to get away from everyone and retreat to a place where you can just be alone. I just need some space.

random thoughts

And so the celebrity spotting continues:

#4: Lee Nan Xing - local actor - spotted him at Crystal Jade Paragon sitting at the table across from us having lunch with 2 ladies. I bet in the entire restaurant, only we knew who he was because he was dressed so casually that no one would notice him. If not for my sister's sharp eyes, I wouldn't have noticed him either.

.......................................................................................................................................................................

I bought Nicky Li Jiu Zhe's latest album, "想太多" = Think too much (literal translation).

Photobucket

It's not bad - it's pop infused with R&B tunes. One of my favourite tracks is "你好吗" featuring 周笔畅. I like his voice and think he's a nice & very funny person, hence the CD. I could never support someone who wasn't a nice person. Their voice could be the most beautiful in the world but if they didn't have the character to match it, I wouldn't give a crap. Hence my adoration for Josh Groban, Mandy Moore, Delta Goodrem, Guy Sebastian etc.

This CD packaging is really cute - It's actually a notebook. The CD is sandwiched in the middle with a plastic cover and his lyrics are printed inside the notebook. The notebook is mostly blank but there are random pages with Nicky's picture on it. Very creative. I think the notebook is made out of recycled paper because nowadays artistes are also concerned with global warming. For example, Wang Li Hong's latest CD covers are made of recycled paper.

.......................................................................................................................................................................

Song I'm hooked onto at the moment: S.H.E's "最近还好吗". Lyrics are simple yet mean so much. It's a really sad song.

Books I've just finished are:

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

They are all by Cecelia Ahern, daughter of Irish Prime Minister and sister-in-law of Nicky Westlife. She's my favourite author at the moment because she writes stories that appeal to me (I can't even explain that. You'd have to read it to find out). I'm really picky about books so that's saying something. I've laughed and cried with these.

I've read all 3 books twice each so far. My favourite is "If You Could See Me Now". She's released 4 books but I didn't like one of them ("Where Rainbows End") because it's in a letter writing format, and I can't stand those. They piss me off big time *lol*.

That's why I'm dying to watch P.S. I Love You. I want to see how they interpreted the book.

Remember the Starbucks takeaway cup with Josh Groban's quote on it?

Photobucket

Josh's is quote #268. I went to their website (http://www.starbucks.com/retail/thewayiseeit_default.asp) to see a few of the other quotes from other notable people. Some of them are quite interesting. But I read that Starbucks caused controversy with some of the quotes that were sensitive and not very appropriate.

Starbucks America is cool!! They are more creative than Starbucks Singapore and Starbucks Australia. They should try to ensure that their international stores are similar to the American stores. For the amount of money we pay for a single cup of coffee, I think the consumers here deserve a nice takeaway cup with Josh's quote on it *LOL*. It would make my day :)

Happy New Year everyone! Let's hope that 2008 will be a better year :) It's the year of the Rat = my year = I hope that brings me lots of luck *lol*

An unexpected mention on Kenny Sia's (http://www.kennysia.com/) website.

*smiles*

Kenny is one of my favourite bloggers (he's hugely popular with the masses). His posts are funny, original and interesting to read all the time. It's hard for me to explain, you have to read them yourself to understand.

I hope you guys had a Merry Christmas!! Although Santa didn't come through this year and grant me my wish (one Mr. Josh Groban in my Christmas Stocking), it was still quite an eventful Christmas.

New Year next week everyone!! Who's up for resolutions?

Christmas is here!!!

So I baked a batch of cookies:

Photobucket

It's my first time so it looks abit gross. Haha. My sister and mom helped. It was fun to do the icing. I wanted to try it because it looked so pretty. But it looks easier when other people do it *lol*. It's really hard!!

My cookies will NEVER look like these:

Photobucket

I can never figure out how people can manage to do their icing so perfectly!! They must be CHEATING. HMPH.

My sister and I watched National Treasure: Book of Secrets, today.

Photobucket

What I can't understand is, for both National Treasure movies, the movie poster only shows Nicolas Cage. Hey, how about his 2 sidekicks?? Even Harry Potter has his 2 sidekicks on his posters. It's ok to share buddy. The poster is big enough.

It was not bad but it was very similar to the first one so it was kindda like watching the first one again. I still like it though, it's interesting. Plus I watch it for Justin Bartha, who's Nicolas Cage's sidekick in the show. He acts as Riley Poole and he's hilarious.

Photobucket

This movie left off unended so I'm positive there's going to be a 3rd movie. I do hope they vary it a little because I'm going to watch it!!

I'm also going to watch Narnia: Prince Caspian when it comes out! I liked the first one and the same cast are acting in the 2nd and 3rd ones so I'm watching it. The eldest son (William Moseley) is very, very cute. I mean not only in looks but in personality as well.

Photobucket

He looks so much like Chad Michael Murray, it's scary.

Photobucket

I REALLY want to watch PS: I Love You but it doesn't look like it's going to be shown here!! BOOOOOO!!!

Photobucket

Oh one more thing before I forget. Saw this picture of Josh at one of his concerts:

Photobucket

Some fan gave him a bobble head of him playing the piano - how cute is that?! Afro Josh!! :)

Merry Christmas again everyone!! :D

Christmas wishes & reflections

Merry Christmas everyone!!

It's that time of the year for reflections and wishes again.

2007 has been an awesome year. I can't deny that.

2007 is the year in which I've laughed the hardest and I've cried the most.

2007 is the year in which I have become closer to God and my family and friends.

2007 is the year my brother started medical school.

2007 is the year my sister graduated from secondary school.

2007 is the year my aunt contracted cancer, and fought it and is winning the battle.

2007 is the year I graduated from law school.

2007 is the year Sangee graduated from med school.

2007 is the year in which I got to meet Michy in Singapore!

2007 is the year I realised that Josh Groban is the only one for me + I got to see him in concert + I got to shake his hand + he spoke to MEEE!!
.
.
.
And for so much more...I'm thankful.
.
.
.

Photobucket

And now that Josh's Christmas album has hit 2.8 million (and counting) in sales in America, these are my Christmas wishes:

My Christmas wish for my family and friends is for them to be happy and healthy always.

For Josh: I hope he finds someone who will love him as much as he loves her because he truly deserves it - and that she will take care of him and make him happy! :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!! And here's to a wonderful 2008!!!

soccer night

As I said before, home = watching cable on big screen TV.

More than that, home = watching soccer on cable on big screen TV.

Even more than that, home = watching your 2 favourite soccer teams & your 2 favourite soccer players play their matches back-to-back on cable on big screen TV.

Even even more than that, home = watching your 2 favourite soccer teams & your 2 favourite soccer players play their matches back-to-back AND WIN on cable on big screen TV.

But the most of all, home = watching your 2 favourite soccer teams & your 2 favourite soccer players play their matches back-to-back AND WIN on cable on big screen TV WITH your family watching & swearing along with you.

Now THAT'S the life.

back from KL

I was over in KL over the weekend visiting relatives. I look forward to it every year because my nieces and nephews are the cutest in the world.

I have 3 cousins living side by side each other, which made the visit very convenient. They have 2 children each (1 boy, 1 girl - so even) and they all play together and call each other brothers and sisters. Living there was like staying in a nursery 24/7.

Unfortunately, I didn't manage to get a picture of all the kids but here are a few:

This is Khai Xii, 2 years old. So cute right!? She will always get bullied by the boys. She's quite friendly - she will run up to you and throw her arms out which means she wants you to carry her and put her in your lap.

This is Khai Ern. She's the princess of the group at 1 year old. She's really quiet but very observant.

This was Khai Ern at 6 months old with her brother, Khai Zhe. Khai Zhe is the dark horse. He looks quiet and very gentlemanly but he's super naughty. He loves to empty his toys all over the floor and run away without picking them up.

They are all absolute darlings and I adore each and every one of them. I had a good time.

I'm bored, have a headache but can't sleep.

This is so annoying.

Guess who's at the top of the charts in Borders?

.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Ok. I have to admit that I had to ask Michelle to help me take this picture because it was too high up (well it was number 1) for me. The perils of being short. Hmph.

That album is now #1 on the Billboard 200 charts in America and has sold like more than 1.5 million albums (but don't quote me on this - it's what I estimated after reading some reports). And it's a Christmas album!

I love Borders. I went there and there was a 4 tier-ed shelf dedicated to Josh. The first shelf was his 1st album. The second shelf was his 2nd album. The third shelf was his 3rd album and the last shelf was his Christmas album, which is his official 4th album.

Guess who's dog I love more than my own?

Remember when it rained

It's been raining all day.

It inspired me to play "Remember when it rained" on the piano. I'm still slow at it but I'm getting better with practice. I hate freaking accidentals. Sometimes I wish everything was simple and was in C major/A minor. Then again life wouldn't be as interesting then, would it?

I was also tempted to open my "Remember when it rained" umbrella and go walking around outside in the rain. But I decided against it because I am still sicky. Being sick sucks, but I guess I asked for it because I took my health for granted and stayed up late and slept few hours and drank like zero water. I thought I was invincible because I haven't been sick the whole year. And well, I was proven wrong as always.

I'm now sitting at my desk in dark and in the comfort of my room, blasting "February Song" for the 16th time in a row, whilst typing this to the smell of the rain outside. Life can be so beautiful.

I feel so blessed. :D

As I sit here thinking about my life, I realise that nothing is ever a coincidence. It has all been planned out for me. Now I will see what He has in store for me, and I shall follow.

Sweeney Todd

Sweeney Todd is being released as a film!!!

And I'm only talking about it because it is Josh's favourite musical. Hence he named his dog "Sweeney" after it.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

It's directed by Tim Burton so I wasn't surprised when I found out that Johnny Depp would be the lead actor. Helena Bonham Carter (woman who acted as creepy Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter) is also one of the leads.

For more information, check it out here:

celebrity spotting

Ever since I came back to Singapore, I've been spotting celebrities out and about in the streets.

No doubt they are not big shot celebrities, but nevertheless still people who have made a name for themselves through television.

The nice thing about Singapore is that they are given the privacy they deserve (and can live like normal people) and on the few occassions that I saw them, no one rushed to take a picture or ask for an autograph, they just stood at the side whispering to each other LOL. Maybe because they are not Fahrenheit or F4.

Celebrity spotted 1: Saw Lee Teng in Orchard Cineleisure. Lee Teng is a Taiwanese host/DJ who works in Singapore now. He was just hanging out with friends when I saw him.

Celebrity spotted 2: Saw Terence Cao Guo Hui at Great World City having lunch with a girl at Ichiban Boshi. I was having lunch there with my sister. He was wearing a cap and walking around looking at sashimi whilst the girl paid for lunch!!

Celebrity spotted 3: Saw Victor Huang Pin Guan (other half of Malaysian ex-group Wu Yin Liang Pin) at the M hotel at Anson Road. I was waiting at the lift lobby for Michelle (who is also staying there LOL) and Pin Guan and a girl I assume to be his assistant/manager...I have no idea...popped out of the lift. Anyway they went to the back exit and left in a white van. Next time I see a white van I will look carefully cuz celebrities are good at being inconspicuous by hiding in them. Victor looked at me with the "is-she-my-fan" look but I just pretended I didn't know who he was. I must have looked like a stalker because I was checking my phone to see if Mich was going to respond to my miss call. He may have thought I was reporting back to the fan base LOL.

Anyway all of them look exactly like they do on TV. Except maybe Pin Guan - he looks slightly better in real-life. He has a real boyish-next-door-neighbour-nerdy-friendly-playing guitar-thing going on there.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
(picture courtesy of his official fan website)

He just came out with his new ALL-English song album. Wonder if it's any good. I've always preferred him to Guang Liang (who I believe is more popular) because he just looks more likeable LOL (I've got this 6th sense about people).

Anyway celebrities are still human after all (except Josh who is an angel) so no doubt we love them but we still have to give them their privacy. In Media law, some Judges say that since celebrities choose to put their lives in the public sphere then they should accept that they will have less privacy. I suppose it's like policemen who put their lives on the line. There are pretty good arguments for both sides but in the end of the day it's just a job so I guess it's ok for the media to ask about your job and such but that has nothing to do with your private life so when celebrities are out and about when they are not working, they should be left alone and their personal life should be respected.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sidetracking: I saw the CUTEST clip of Josh speaking a bit of Japanese (he said "hajimemashite, dozo yorushiku" - which means "How do you do? Pleased to meet you" AND "doumo arigatou gozaimasu" - which means "Thank you") on a Tokyo talk show interview (because he learnt Japanese for 2 years in high school) - MAN...it made my day *faints - thudthudthudthud*
